Andrew Howard is a graphic designer, teacher, curator, and design writer living and working in Porto, Portugal since 1993. He runs Studio Andrew Howard and has specialised over the years (both in the UK and in Portugal) in design work for cultural and educational organisations and institutions. Much of his design work in recent years has been devoted to editorial and exhibition design.
He is curator of the exhibition series 'Idioms: Graphic Design in our everyday lives' and of the international conference series 'Personal Views'. He has won various international design awards and his writing has featured in Eye Magazine and other publications. He is an original signatory to the First Things First manifesto 2000. In addition to running the studio he is also director of the MA in Communication Design at ESAD, Matosinhos, and organizes the Porto Design Summer School. Read Less
