• Thierry Lasry Showroom Mural by Faust
     
    Thierry Lasry launched his eponymous sunglass line in 2006. Lasry ranks among the most high-profile talents in the designer eyewear realm, commonly worn by some of the biggest celebrities from Kate Moss to Naomi Campbell and Rhianna to Lady Gaga. The line is represented in the most exclusive stores around the world from Colette in Paris, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman & Opening Ceremony in the US, Dover Street Market in London, and Harvey Nichols in Hong-Kong.
     
    About a year ago, Thierry Lasry moved his showroom from Paris to New York. Based in the heart of SoHo, the aesthetic of the space is creative and playful with coffee table books and collectable toys all over. The vintage french furniture and high-end eyewear on display, handmade in Paris, convey luxury and uniqueness.
     
    My concept for this mural was to fill the wall with the racey names of the most popular models of sunglasses from the collection; Orgasmy, Divinity, Slutty, Authority, etc. A great deal of consideration went into the placement of the words, to emphasize the best-sellers, and to avoid any names from getting cut-off. The designer's name was written in the center of the wall, slightly bolder than the rest to stand out.
