A display of photos from the National Library of Norway
forms this exhibition about the history of Norwegian jazz
music from 1930 to 1990. With stories, photos and other
archival material this exhibition gives you a unique glance
at the true history of jazz in Norway.
The assignment of creating a visual identity was done at
TANK design. We were inspired by the interesting motives
from the exhibition, while we choose to pick up the simple
visual power of the mythical album covers from the '50s
and '60s. It resulted in a simple color palette of black, white
and red, a rational typography and a grid that emphasizes
both rhythm and play.
